The funniest blog in Texas, In the Pink Texas, has come out swinging in favor of Sen. Obama, saying "2009 is Obamatime". ITPT concludes "it really looks like he’s gonna win."
When you win the informal endorsement of ITPT, then you've virtually won the TX Dem primary. Never forget that this is ITPT's world...we only live in it.
But at this point, we all know that McCain is just the warm-up act - Dexy’s Midnight Runners to Obama’s Duran Duran. And from the moment that “CBS NEWS’ FACE THE NATION’s MODERATOR: BOB SCHIEFFER of CBS News” said “Coming next, Senator Barack Obama, who may have a different point of view,” it. was. on.
Right out of the gate, Obama busts McCain in the jaw with “I–first of all, I think Senator McCain has been consistent. He voted for the authorization, and he has consistently pursued the course that we’re on right now.” POW! And that’s all he had to say.
Book your flights now, folks. Two years from this Saturday, someone is getting sworn in as the new president and it ain’t gonna be Johnny “more of the same” McCain. 2009 is Obamatime.
Now at this point I would usually sound a note of cynicism. That’s my thing. I end on a dour note. I thought I’d mention something about Obama’s past drug use, or the fact that he smokes, that he might be a policy lightweight (as if we’d notice) or that he lacks all executive experience. So to see what the full-time cynics say, I googled “stop obama” (no quotes). Go ahead. Try it.
I got nothin’. This dude is running (apparently shirtless, on a beach) and it really looks like he’s gonna win.

In another post, Pink Lady from ITPT also offers this observation:
I was pretty star-struck when I saw Obama speak at the Texas Book Festival. (If you recall, I was just coming off a bad break-up with Mark Warner.) I think Obama’s electable.
