Sen. Barack Obama is the most inspiring public leader in America. He has a bold vision to help the middle class and restore America's prestige in the world. Join this grassroots effort to support Sen. Obama's historic and uplifting campaign for president. Keep hope alive! Obama '08!
Our TFO web traffic has soared in our first few months. We started off with just a couple of web hits per day. But as of 4:53pm on March 12, we've grown to 49,399 web hits. It's very exciting to hit the 50,000 web hit milestone so quickly!
This project orginally started as a humble book club on South Congress Ave. with just a few Meetup attendees, but through the strength of our volunteer network and one "kick-ass rally", we've grown into a Texas-sized grassroots movement. If you'd like to volunteer, then please contact us at volunteerforobama@gmail.com.
Thanks to everyone for spreading the word! Keep hope alive!
We Texans bear the unfortunate responsibility of allowing George Bush
to advance from our Governor's Mansion to the White House in 2000.
Thus, we plan to make things right in 2008 by getting Sen. Barack Obama to the White House. Texans for Obama is an all-volunteer, grassroots network of Texans committed to changing America
for the better. Email us if you'd like to get on the Obama train and volunteer to make a difference.
Like Sen. Obama, we were against the war in Iraq in 2002. Like Sen. Obama, we support universal health care. Like Sen. Obama, we believe every child has the right to a good education and teachers deserve to be paid more for all their hard work.
When Obama graduated from Harvard Law School, he could have landed a 6-figure salary at any prestigious law firm in the country. Instead, he chose to move to the south side of Chicago to become a community organizer for a mere $13,000/year. He gave up personal financial stability to help out his fellow Americans. Thus, Obama doesn't just talk grassroots...he walks the walk. He spearheaded an effort that registered 150,000 new voters that empowered regular Americans to participate in our democracy. The Obama '08 campaign is about inviting every day Americans to join together to change America for the better.
TFO started back in October 2006 with just a few guys drinking beer and talking about how cool Sen. Barack Obama is. Then, after seeing over 600 people lined up at the Capitol to see Obama at the Texas Book Festival, we realized that we weren't alone. So we started an informal book club (see the video below) that launched on Dec. 7, 2006. We had over 25 people turn out for our first event, and we haven't looked back. Our turnout has doubled and tripled at subsequent Meetups, and we're very excited that Sen. Obama is visiting Texas as part of his announcement tour.
Most candidates only stop in Texas for fundraisers, so it further shows Obama's commitment to the grassroots that he's willing to take time out of his schedule to hold a rally with the people.
Our web traffic is off the charts. We're about to reach the 2,000 web hit milestone. Thanks to everyone for spreading the word. Almost 400 people have checked our site in the last 24 hours.
More information is coming soon about how to get tickets to see Sen. Obama in Texas on Friday, Feb. 23. While free to the public, tickets will be required. Keep checking www.TexansForObama.com for the latest information about this exciting event.

Thanks to everyone for spreading the word about our blog. We're about
to reach the 1,500 web hit milestone. The momentum is growing!
Thanks to everyone who attended this morning's presidential announcement party at Mitchie's Gallery. We had over 50 people show up on a Saturday morning...a good two years out from Election Day! That's amazing turnout, and we've definitely got a head start over our primary competition. Next stop...the White House.
Check out the new web tool on the top right side of our home page, just under Obama's picture. You can now sign up for our e-mail newsletters.
